1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

Stop by the library anytime to sign your little one up for this amazing program! Receive a prize for every 100 books and upon finishing the programming, your child will receive a certificate of completion.

The concept is simple, the rewards are priceless. Read a book (any book) to your newborn, infant, and/or toddler. The goal is to have read 1,000 books (yes you can repeat books) before your precious one starts kindergarten. Does it sound hard? Not really if you think about it. If you read just 1 book a night, you will have read about 365 books in a year. That is 730 books in two years and 1,095 books in three years. If you consider that most children start kindergarten at around 5 years of age, you have more time than you think (so get started).  https://1000booksbeforekindergarten.org

Born To Read

If you are an expectant mother or new parent living in Kingman county - or know of one, please inquire about receiving a free book bag containing a Mother Goose book, bib, literacy literature, and a special poem. Babies are born to read, but they need a little help to get started!

Story Time

This special time is for preschoolers ages 3-5. Each session includes a story plus a craft, game, song, activity, or presentation. Storytimes are on Friday mornings in the spring and fall.

Annual Summer Reading Program

The program encourages your children to continue reading through the summer months. Special activities and programs are scheduled weekly from late May through July. The 2023 Summer theme is "All Together Now!" Adults can get in on the fun, too! Registration begins on June 1st! Highlights of the program will include, storytimes, crafts, games, and more. Look for a full schedule to be released in early May.
